You know that on your favorite television shows that the streets and house numbers used are often fake and have no significance. Not so with Bonnie Meadow Rd here in New Rochelle.

Dec 16 Pull 083For a number of years, New Rochelle’s Bonnie Meadow Rd was home to Carl Reiner and his family, including son Rob Reiner. The Dick van Dyke show was  autobiographical. “Like Petrie, Reiner was a New York writer who lived in New Rochelle. Like Petrie, Reiner spent part of his World War II days at Camp Crowder in Joplin, Missouri, a fact that was brought out in several flashback episodes. Even Petrie's 148 Bonny Meadow Road address was an allusion to Reiner's own 48 Bonny Meadow Road home.” more.  Also the upcoming movie Flipped by Rob Reiner is set at the corners of Bonnie Meadow Lane and Renfrew St.
